East Bay Energy Watch ("EBEW") is a collaboration between Pacific Gas & Electric Company and local governments, non-profit and for-profit energy service providers in the East Bay dedicated to providing innovative energy efficiency solutions for residents and businesses in communities throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
Through EBEW, residents and businesses have access to energy efficiency services at no cost. These services range from a residential green house call to a commercial retrofit. The following programs are also available to residents and businesses:
BayREN – Single-Family Home Upgrade: Combines multiple improvements to increase a home’s overall energy efficiency. Combine at least three measures and receive rebates ranging up to $3,150.
BayREN – Single-Family Advanced Home Upgrade: Complete an energy assessment to determine where the home is wasting energy. Homes must then make improvements to reach a minimum of 10% energy saving. Rebates range up to $6,500.
BayREN – Multifamily Enhancement Program: This program offers cash rebates and no-cost energy consulting for multifamily properties that complete energy and water upgrades. Complexes that save 15% or more of a building’s energy and water usage receive $750 per unit in rebates to help pay for the upgrades.
EBEW – Commercial Retrofits: This program provides businesses no-cost energy assessments, instant rebates and long-term savings through energy efficiency measures.
