For the week of February 23, our Contractor will begin work on the project. As part of this work, portions of the reserved parking area south of the Lafayette BART station (Lot A) will be closed beginning February 23. Approximately 50 parking spaces will be taken out of service leaving approximately 70 spaces available in Lot A. See diagram.
Pedestrian and cyclist access to the southern entrance to the BART station will be detoured but will remain open at all times. The bike lockers located on the south side of the BART station will be relocated outside of the construction area and will remain available for use.
Construction activities planned for next week include the following:
- Installation of pedestrian and cyclist detours
- Installation of construction/security fencing
- Installation of construction and information signage
- Positively locating utilities in the construction area
- Demolition of existing improvements
The working hours for this project are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Emergency vehicles will be provided access at all times.
