Our contractor is working on providing the necessary site security and pedestrian detour plans to BART for their review to ensure that access to the BART station is available at all times during construction. Once these plans have been approved the contractor will begin working on the project.
Once work begins pedestrian and cyclist access to the southern entrance to the BART station will be detoured but will remain open at all times. The bike lockers located on the south side of the BART station have been relocated outside of the construction area and will remain available for use.
Construction activities planned for the first week of construction include the following:
- Installation of pedestrian and cyclist detours
- Installation of construction/security fencing
- Installation of construction and information signage
- Positively locating utilities in the construction area
- Demolition of existing improvements
The working hours for this project are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Emergency vehicles will be provided access at all times.
