City Council Poised to Green Light Sunflower Hill's Supportive Housing Development

The City's partnership with non-profit developers, Sunflower Hill and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA) will reach an important milestone at the next City Council meeting. On Monday, April 27, the City Council will consider the proposal for a 48-unit permanent, supportive housing development at 949 Moraga Road. Renderings of the project were presented in February to the Planning Commission and Design Review Board.

The City has been working with Sunflower Hill and SAHA for over a year to support redevelopment of the City-owned parking lot into an affordable housing project and has already agreed to contribute the land for the project. The development will create 47 apartments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), along with one on-site manager’s unit, a community room, fitness room, teaching kitchen and small garden as well as landscaping improvements along Moraga Road. For more information, visit the Sunflower Hill at Lafayette proposal webpage.
