The Lafayette City Council has proclaimed the days of September 1 to September 21, 2022, as “BeKind21” in the City of Lafayette. Together with the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, Lafayette Library & Learning Center Foundation, Lafayette Partners in Education, Lafayette School District, Peter Pan Foundation and Lafayette Social, the City of Lafayette are once again partnering with Born This Way Foundation to practice 21 days of being kind to themselves and each other.
We invite everyone to participate in the challenge by being kind to their neighbors, friends, family members, fellow residents, themselves, and their community. It’s easy to participate:
- Take @btwfoundation’s #BeKind21 pledge to build a habit of kindness by doing something kind for yourself and others every day for 21 days this September.
- Read our 21 examples of sharing kindness that the City has developed for the challenge. (Feel free to download and share this flyer!)
- Make a contribution to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano during the Lafayette Chamber's food drive in support of BeKind21. Drop off your donation of non-perishable food at the Main City Offices or other donation locations around town - see list on the Chamber of Commerce website.
We’d love to hear from you! What does kindness look like to you? How will you share your 21 days of kind actions? Let us know your thoughts on #BeKind21 by emailing the City of Lafayette at socialmedia@lovelafayette.org. You can also reach us on social media using the tag @lovelafayette on Facebook or Instagram. Please put "#BeKind21" in the email subject line or in your social media post.
