The City of Lafayette is seeking community input on transportation safety in order to develop a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP). The LRSP is one step towards the City’s goal of eliminating deaths and serious injuries on our streets while increasing safe, healthy and equitable mobility for all.
We want to hear your ideas for making local streets in Lafayette safer for everyone as well as your stories about where you have felt safe/unsafe when walking, driving, biking or rolling around town.
Local Roadway Safety Plan Open House
The City will host a virtual public workshop on Thursday, December 1 at 6 p.m. including a public discussion of traffic safety as part of the City’s Local Roadway Safety Plan development. Please plan on attending and providing your input on roadway safety across Lafayette!
The workshop will start with a short presentation on what a Local Roadway Safety Plan is, a summary of Lafayette’s current road safety data, and a summary of public input received to date. Then, it’s your turn! Community members will be invited to breakout rooms to give feedback on roadway safety and help to identify safety risk factors, locations of concerns, and strategize on how we can reduce hazards on our roadways for everyone.

Online Mapping Activity
This interactive online map is easy to use – simply follow the prompts to pinpoint the locations across Lafayette where you have felt safe or unsafe on our streets, provide ideas for making our streets safer for everyone, and share your stories about traffic safety.
