The City of Lafayette, the Town of Moraga, and the City of Orinda (collectively, “Jurisdictions”) are seeking qualified residential design and design/build firms (“Consultant”) to prepare permit-ready, pre-approved Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) plan sets as part of the Senate District 7 (SD7) ADU Program. The selected Consultant will develop a user-friendly library of standardized ADU designs (ranging from studios to two-bedroom units and incorporating multiple architectural styles) that will be made available to the public free-of-charge to streamline permitting, reduce design costs, and support housing production in both communities.
The scope of work includes preparation of complete, code-compliant construction drawings, renderings, and publication-ready materials, as well as coordination with both Jurisdictions through meetings, reviews, and presentations. The project budget is estimated at $15,000 per plan set for up to six plan sets.
Questions about the RFP were due by May 15 and the answers are included in the addendum.
