NOTICE OF ELECTION
City of Lafayette General Election - November 3, 2026
To elect three (3) City Councilmembers
Two City Council Members for full 4-year terms each and
One City Council Member for a partial 2-year term
Extended Nomination Period for City Council
Incumbent Councilmember Susan Candell did not file nomination papers by the August 7, 2026 filing deadline. As a result, the nomination period for a City Council seat has been extended through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
During the extended nomination period the nomination papers for City Council Candidates will be issued by appointment only. To schedule an appointment with City Clerk Joanne Robbins call (925) 284-1968 or email: jrobbins@ci.lafayette.ca.us.
The candidate is responsible for the delivery of all signed original documents to the City Clerk Joanne Robbins no later than Wednesday, August 12, 2026, 4pm.
Eligibility to Run for Lafayette City Council:
A citizen of the United States
At least 18 years of age
A registered voter and a qualified elector of the City of Lafayette
