Residential Parking Permits
In designated neighborhoods, the City of Lafayette offers an annual Residential Parking Permit (RPP) for specific streets. As of January 5th the 2026 Residential Parking Permits will be available for purchase. This permit expires December 31st of the year in which it is issued. The Residential Parking Permit fee is $51.00 and is not prorated.
Important: Some permit areas apply to an entire street, while others apply only to specific address ranges, sides of a street, or individual properties. Residents must live within the exact street segment, address range, or property listed below to be eligible for a Residential Parking Permit.

- Woodland Way

Eligible Address-Specific Locations
- Brook Street – 3535 Brook Street only
- Brown Avenue – between Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Deer Hill Road
- Carol Lane – addresses 1061, 1064, 1065, 1066, 1069, and 1070 only (to Marlene Drive)
- Dewing Avenue – addresses 909–971 only, between Bickerstaff Road and Brook Street
- Dolores Drive – addresses 1008–1057 only
- Dyer Drive – 3357–3369 only, south side of street (odd-numbered addresses only)
- Happy Valley Road – 3627 Happy Valley Road only
- Mountain View Drive – west side only, addresses 939–953 (odd-numbered addresses only)
- Moraga Boulevard – 3500 block only, between Moraga Road and First Street
Note: Eligibility is based on the limits established by City Council resolution for each permit area. If your address is not within the exact location described above, you are not eligible for a permit.
All applicants must show proof of residency by providing two of any of the following:
- a phone, PG&E, water, or other utility bill (dated within the last 30 days)
- a property tax bill, a receipt of rent payment, or a signed copy of a lease agreement
Additionally, a copy of your valid California Vehicle Registration is required.
Driver's license and personal checks are not acceptable as proof of residency, as they are not necessarily current.
Limit of one Residential Parking Permit per household. Two permits may be granted if 4 or more vehicles are registered to one household. Proof of four registered vehicles at the requested address is required.
All vehicles parked on city streets must be moved every 72 hours per Lafayette Municipal Code (Article 10, Section 8-894).

Note: You may come in between the hours 8am-5pm Monday through Friday with the necessary documentation to obtain your Parking Permit. You may also mail an application and necessary documentation, along with a check made payable to the City of Lafayette and your Parking Permit will be mailed to your address. *Effective immediately any on-line Credit Card payments will be charged a 2.9% processing fee.
