The Emergency Preparedness Commission coordinates preparation and planning efforts to mitigate the effects of natural and man-made disasters. The main focus of the Commission is to bring the Emergency Operations Center to a state of readiness by providing the necessary materials and resources for the assigned staff. In addition, the Commission sponsors the Neighborhood Captains Program and provides training opportunities for Captains.

The August 2025 meeting will be held on Monday August 7th at 10:00 am in the OAK ROOM, next to the Arts & Sciences room in the Lafayette Library and Learning Center.
NOTE: DATE AND TIME CHANGE FOR THE MONTHLY MEETINGS STARTING IN SEPTEMBER, 2026
Starting in September, 2026, the Lafayette Emergency Preparedness Commission meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center in the Art & Science Discovery Center, located at 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. See City Calendar for meeting details.
