In November 2024, Lafayette voters approved Measure H, which enacted a 1/2-cent local sales tax for seven years to provide funding to maintain the current level of City services. The measure is expected to generate approximately $2.4 million annually, with all revenue deposited into the City's General Fund. Measure H also requires annual public review of revenue and expenditures by a citizen oversight committee.

This is a five-member body which meets once or twice per year, including an annual presentation to report its findings to the City Council. The body will sunset after all Measure H revenues have been spent and reported in the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
